In a devastating incident on the Kampala-Gulu Highway in Uganda, 63 people lost their lives following a multi-vehicle crash that occurred at 00:15 local time. The accident involved two buses traveling in opposite directions that collided while attempting to overtake a lorry and a car. One bus swerved to avoid a collision, resulting in a head-on and side collision that triggered a chain reaction, causing several vehicles to overturn. In addition to the fatalities, numerous passengers sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital in Kiryandongo. The Uganda Police Force has launched an investigation into the crash and has urged motorists to refrain from dangerous overtaking, which remains a leading cause of road accidents in the country.
