EU imposes definitive duties on Chinese adipic acid

EU Regulation 2026/913 imposed definitive anti-dumping duties of 29.1% to 42.3% on adipic acid imports from China from 6 May 2026.
Why it matters
Adipic acid imports under CN 2917 12 00 now face producer-specific anti-dumping rates. Individual rates apply only when customs authorities receive a compliant Article 1(3) commercial invoice. Without that invoice, the 42.3% residual duty applies.
Implications
- → EU customs and trade compliance teams must verify the Article 1(3) invoice declaration and TARIC additional code from 6 May 2026 — entries without compliant invoices default to the 42.3% residual rate.
- → Importer finance teams must reconcile provisional duties secured under Regulation 2025/2287 — excess secured amounts are released and definitive amounts are collected.
