1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of OwlBrief, including our website, apps, AI summaries, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You may use the Service only if you are capable of forming a binding contract with OwlBrief and are at least the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (typically 16+). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. Service & availability
OwlBrief provides automated, AI-assisted summaries of news and analysis, topic tagging, “key insights”, and related features, along with tools to save, revisit, and discuss briefs.
We may add, modify, or remove features; limit availability; or suspend or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, for any reason, without liability. We strive for reliability and accuracy but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or complete.
The Service is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, investment, medical, or other professional advice.
3. Accounts
- You may need an account to use some parts of the Service. You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized use, you should notify us promptly.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe there is a violation of these Terms, risk to the Service or its users, or other legitimate reason (for example, fraud, abuse, or security concerns).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. For example, you must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, infringing, harassing, or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to bypass technical or access controls, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of systems.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content in a way that overloads or interferes with the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code, models, or underlying systems, except as permitted by law.
- Use the Service to build or train a competing product or model without our prior written permission.
- Upload or share content that contains malware, spam, or other harmful code.
5. Intellectual property
OwlBrief, including its name, logos, software, designs, and user interface, is owned by OwlBrief and its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
OwlBrief does not claim ownership of third-party content it summarizes or links to (such as news articles, research reports, or videos). All such content remains the property of its respective owners and is used solely for the purpose of displaying short extracts, links, and AI-generated summaries for your personal use.
6. Third-party content & publishers
The Service may display links, metadata, and short AI-generated summaries of third-party content (for example, news articles and analysis) obtained from public or licensed sources. OwlBrief does not control or endorse those websites and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or policies. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
References to publishers, outlets, or authors on OwlBrief are for attribution only and do not imply any partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement unless we explicitly say so. Publishers retain ownership of their journalism. We aim to keep summaries short, attribute the source clearly, and link back to the original reporting so you can read the full story from the publisher.
If you are a publisher and have questions or requests about how your content appears on OwlBrief, you can contact us using the details in the Contact section.
7. AI content & disclaimers
OwlBrief uses AI models to generate summaries, topic tags, key insights, and answers to your questions. These outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, biased, or out of date, and can sometimes misinterpret or oversimplify the underlying source. You should not rely on them as a sole source of truth or as professional advice (including legal, financial, investment, or medical advice).
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. OwlBrief does not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OwlBrief and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OwlBrief’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to OwlBrief for the Service in the six (6) months before the claim arose, or (b) US $50.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold OwlBrief and its affiliates, officers, and employees harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content (if any), or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or close your account, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, pose a risk to the Service or other users, or if we stop providing the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Certain provisions of these Terms, such as those relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity, will continue to apply after termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.
12. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice (for example, in the app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
