DGFT revises Standard Input Output Norms for six Chemical and Allied Products SIONs with immediate effect

Exporters of caustic soda, gelatine, ossein, and chlorinated paraffin variants holding or applying for Advance Authorisations must use the revised SION input ratios from 29 May 2026 — applying old ratios creates duty recovery exposure.

Change
DGFT Public Notice No. 3/2026-27 dated 29 May 2026 revises SIONs A1090, A1794, A1827, A3105, A3106, and A3107 for Chemical and Allied Products under Export Product Group 'A' with immediate effect, changing the permitted duty-free input ratios for Advance Authorisation holders.
Why it matters
Revised SIONs change the permitted quantity of duty-free inputs per unit of export output for Advance Authorisation holders across six product lines. Exporters using outdated input ratios in Advance Authorisation applications or redemption documents face short-duty claims or excess import disallowance on audit. The revision covers caustic soda flakes/solid, gelatine, ossein, and fifteen chlorinated paraffin variants across three SION entries (A3105, A3106, A3107) at different chlorine content levels (41–55%).
Implications
  • Exporters of caustic soda flakes/solid, gelatine, ossein, and chlorinated paraffin variants must update Advance Authorisation applications and redemption filings to use the revised SION input ratios from 29 May 2026 — filing with superseded ratios creates duty recovery and disallowance exposure on DGFT audit.
  • Export compliance and customs teams must update internal SION reference tables for A1090, A1794, A1827, A3105, A3106, and A3107 immediately — open Advance Authorisations being redeemed must be checked against the new ratios before submission.
Who is affected
  • Exporters of caustic soda, gelatine, ossein, and chlorinated paraffin variants holding or applying for Advance Authorisations under DGFT
  • Export compliance and customs teams managing Advance Authorisation redemption filings for Chemical and Allied Products
What to watch
  • 29 May 2026: revised SIONs effective immediately — all Advance Authorisation applications and redemptions filed on or after this date must use the new input ratios.
