The Tamil Nadu government signed an MoU with Sarvam AI to establish India’s first full-stack Sovereign AI Park with an initial investment of ₹10,000 crore. The project is expected to generate 1,000 high-skilled, deep-tech jobs, and the MoU was exchanged in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The park is planned as a purpose-built district integrating AI compute infrastructure, secure data frameworks, model research labs, AI innovation clusters, and an Institute for AI in Governance. Sarvam AI was selected under the IndiaAI Mission to develop India’s first sovereign large language model and received access to compute resources to build models optimised for reasoning, voice, and Indian languages.
