What happened
Mizoram recorded 145 tuberculosis (TB) deaths in 2025, the highest fatalities in six years. Official data recorded 2,275 new TB cases in 2025, including 911 females, and 84% of patients were successfully treated. TB deaths in the State increased each year from 31 in 2020 to 136 in 2024. Of the 2,275 new cases in 2025, 146 were multi-drug-resistant TB and 267 involved both TB and HIV AIDS.
