Assam's Cabinet approved the MRO Policy 2025 to establish the state as a leading aviation hub in Northeast India by 2030, alongside educational reforms.

The Assam State Cabinet has taken significant steps by approving the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Policy 2025. This initiative aims to position Assam as the leading aviation MRO hub in Northeast India by 2030. In addition to the MRO policy, the Cabinet established a High-Powered Investment Committee to facilitate investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore. The Cabinet also focused on education reforms, approving amendments to regulate fees in private educational institutions and enhance salaries for non-teaching staff. These measures are designed to ensure transparency, equity, and affordability in education while addressing the financial needs of non-teaching employees. Furthermore, the Cabinet plans to present the Mehta Commission Report on the 1983 Assam Election violence to the Assam Legislative Assembly in the upcoming session.
