Kempegowda International Airport (BLR Airport) in Bengaluru has made history by becoming the first airport in India to receive Level 3 accreditation from the Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation program by Airports Council International (ACI). This recognition, announced on November 21, 2025, underscores the airport's commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible travel experience for all passengers. The airport, operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), has advanced from Level 1 to Level 3 in less than a year, showcasing its leadership in inclusive transformation. Key achievements include enhanced digital accessibility, partnerships, training, and universal design integration. BIAL's Managing Director and CEO, Hari Marar, emphasized that accessibility is a core mindset guiding their operations, aiming to ensure seamless navigation for every passenger, regardless of ability.
