On November 10, 2025, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met Vietnam’s Minister of National Defence, General Phan Van Giang, in Hanoi during the 15th India–Vietnam Defence Policy Dialogue. Singh conveyed greetings from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and emphasized India's commitment to enhancing defence cooperation with Vietnam. The dialogue, co-chaired by Singh and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant-General Hoang Xuan Chien, involved a review of current defence engagements and discussions on new collaboration areas. They signed a memorandum of agreement on Mutual Submarine Search and Rescue Support and Cooperation, along with a letter of intent on Defence Industry Cooperation. This partnership is seen as a vital component of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Vietnam.
