Karnataka, Germany fast-track employment process for healthcare professionals aiming to work in Germany
Why it matters
The Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC) has initiated a partnership with Germany to expedite the employment process for healthcare professionals, particularly nurses. This collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Deutsche Fachkräfteagentur für Gesundheits- und Pflegeberufe GmbH (DeFa). A new telc German Language Examination Centre has been inaugurated in Bengaluru to provide structured language training. This program aims to help candidates achieve the necessary B2-level German proficiency, which is essential for registered nurses seeking employment in Germany. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance Indo-German cooperation in the healthcare sector. The telc exams are recognized globally and align with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This development is expected to create accessible pathways for aspiring healthcare professionals from Karnataka and India.
