Karnataka is set to create a 200-acre semiconductor park in the new KWIN City, located near Bengaluru. This initiative, announced by Minister M B Patil, aims to bolster the state's industrial sectors by providing comprehensive infrastructure for semiconductor companies. The park is envisioned as a major innovation hub, supporting investments from global technology firms. The government is focusing on emerging fields such as drones, semiconductor devices, and solar energy. Karnataka currently hosts over 800 R&D centers and numerous startups in advanced technologies. The state has allocated ₹600 crore to support these enterprises and is planning a Centre of Excellence for AI and Quantum Computing. This initiative reflects Karnataka's commitment to retaining its status as a leader in deep science and frontier technologies.
