A What happened
A majority of 277 lawmakers voted to appoint Mykhailo Fedorov as defence minister. President Volodymyr Zelensky had nominated Fedorov, and a vote was not scheduled the previous day because there were not enough lawmakers in parliament. Denys Shmyhal was appointed energy minister and first deputy prime minister after being dismissed a few days earlier as defence minister.
