Amazon Pharmacy scales same-day prescription delivery footprint
Why it matters
The move materially widens Amazon’s addressable market for time-sensitive prescriptions, shifting more pharmacy demand toward delivery in smaller and newly covered communities. Pharmacies and PBM-linked mail-order providers in the newly served areas face faster service parity pressure, which can force changes to delivery SLAs, staffing, and last‑mile partnerships. For healthcare providers and employers using Amazon Pharmacy benefits, the expansion increases the set of members who can start therapies same-day, reducing reliance on local pickup workflows.
